The large NTRAK layout operated with few problems throughout the convention. The Red Line was set up for DCC operation. More than 500 trains under the control of 248 different engineers were dispatched over the DCC line during the four days the layout was in operation. In addition, many trains operated over the various other routes that the layout design offered, and a number of modules incorporated their own operating lines separate from the NTRAK mains, offering even more action. During the Saturday and Sunday public show, visitors of all ages were given the opportunity to run trains.
